It has a short true range, but if you can hit both shots, it’s one of the strongest weapons in the game. It beats all swords except the Pixie-Enchanted Sword, and Pixie is only stronger against 0 DEF targets.The Greatsword and Great Axe are very slow, and harder to use. They also have high stat requirements. The Claymore is nice because it has lower stat requirements, and Faith builds don't want to put too much into unnecessary stats. Greatsword and Great Axe are really best suited for Strength builds in my opinion. Claymores can be found in 1-2 at the end of the underground passageway and costs 6k souls,kind of pricey if you're early on in the game,but I'm unsure of the drop rates for Blue Eye Knights,I've never found one personally.
